Purpose

Turkey Creek Preschool’s purpose is to reach out to families in the community and surrounding areas to help strengthen lives through daily encouragement of being who God created us all to be. We have served our community and surrounding area since August 16, 2021.

We are a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Preschool team that creates a nurturing and stimulating environment for preschool-aged children, fostering their social emotional, and cognitive development. We implement a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes literacy education, math concepts, and physical education, while also managing classroom behavior effectively.

Our days of operation are Monday-Friday serving children from the ages of 24 months to 4-year-olds. Early morning drop-off begins at 7:30 to 8:15 to serve families whose work hours begin at 8:00a.m. There is an early arrival fee of $1.00 per day per child. Prior arrangements are scheduled with the director for spaces available. Preschool learning program operates from 8:15-12:00.

Curriculum

Our curriculum’s components are designed to enhance the spiritual, physical, emotional and cognitive areas of a child’s age-appropriate development. In our curriculum we include open-ended play providing children with resources, time and space to create their own ideas through the thematic unit of learning each week. We listen and are aware of the “teachable moments” that can be explored further for children to expand their ideas.

“The Gospel Project” through Lifeway Christian Resources is used to teach the bible in chronological order in 3 years.

“Preschool Plan-It Academy” and “Danielle’s Place” monthly theme is used to create unique learning experiences in science, math, sensory, dramatic play with props of real-life experiences, process art that is child directed and more.

Education.com is an online educational program that the children have access to 1 hour per week which covers reading, math and typing activities. Beginning at the age of three children move at their own rate of progress with assistance when needed.

Experience Curriculum uses STEAM learning.

Parent Participation

Our families are involved in packing Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, preparing props for the Annual Christmas Program, coming for a special day of sharing with the children about their careers, and special snack days. Each year we add to our growing list of parent participation.

Community Participation

We invite in once a month our community service workers to come in and share with the children. We have visits from the North Transylvania Fire Department with Sparky the Fire Dog, Law Enforcement Officers, Veterans, Potter from Mud Dabbers, Dental Assistant, Nurse, and The Healthy Smiles Project. Once a month Transylvania County Library Children’s worker has special reading time and activities. Twice a month our Youth Pastor comes for Chapel Time. Each year we add to our growing list of community participation.

Classrooms
Our classroom ratio is 1:6 for two-year-olds and 1:8 for three-four-year-olds. Our teachers have 1-10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and the director’s experience is 45 years. Our staff have CPR/First Aid and have ongoing trainings in Early Childhood to keep up with current information.

 Tuition and Enrollment

We serve children offering consecutive days for the benefit of children adjusting to their environment easier and staying in connection with the curriculum. This method has proven to be effective in children adjusting to their new environment and effective learning experiences. To inquire about our preschool contact 877-3355 or info@turkeycreekbaptist.org. the director will then contact you and set up an appointment to tour the preschool and share with you about our program and answer your questions.
